A Language of Learning

For me this is what meaningful learning is about.......

1. Making Connections

2. Wondering and Questioning

3. Considering different perspectives

4. Observing closely and describing what’s there

5. Building explanations and interpretations

6. Reasoning with evidence

7. Capturing the essence and coming to conclusions

8. Uncovering complexity and going deeper

How a common language of learning can give students the confidence to articulate their current understandings and to strive for greater depth.

A Sincere thank you to Anne Cato (St Mary's Rotorua AP and E-Learning Leader) for allowing me to share this.

With learners having an input into the creation of SOLO rubrics and discussing the symbols in relation to their current 'Concept Curriculum' - meaningful adaptations began to occur.

A Sincere thank you to David Bach (St Mary's Rotorua Teacher) for allowing me to share this.
